In 1983, the Gym Rat basketball program was started as a non-profit organization to provide a free basketball camp for underprivileged student athletes. We strive each year to provide our athletes with an environment that will prepare them for the reality of adulthood. Gym Rats started with 52-players and has since risen to over 150-athletes.Overthe past 20-years Gym Rat has evolved into an academic enrichment and life skills program through the game of basketball. Our players develop activism and social skills by volunteering in the community each year. Their support helps us pick two less fortunate families each year to give them a Gym Rat Christmas. Each September we bring in the top nationally ranked high school players from across the country for our annual Gym Rat Midnight Madness. The annual event has evolved into an elite invitational High School showcase.
